Judgment
Honourable Mr. Vijay Manohar Sahai, J.—We have heard Mr. Vivek Patel, learned counsel appearing for H.L. Patel Advocates for the appellants and Mr. Keyur Patel, learned counsel holding brief of Mr. Mitul K. Shelat appearing for the respondent University. By way of these Intra-Court Letters Patent Appeals, the appellants - original petitioners have challenged the judgment and order dated 22.11.2011 passed by the learned Single Judge in Special Civil Application Nos. 16217, 16237 and 16239 of 2011 whereby the learned Single Judge dismissed the writ petitions of the appellants. In the writ petition, the challenge of the appellants was to the decision of the respondent University dated 17.10.2011 whereby the respondent University had directed the appellants to get themselves registered as a voter in the Faculty of Law with the respondent University for the purpose of participating in the election to the Senate, scheduled to be held in December, 2011 and rejected the applications of the appellants.
In our opinion, since the election to the Senate was held in December, 2011, therefore, these Letters Patent Appeals have become infructuous by efflux of time and hence, all these Letters Patent Appeals are accordingly dismissed as having become infructuous. Rule discharged. There shall be no order as to costs.
