The petitioner has filed this petition seeking issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the convict by name Sri. Ramu S/o Rathnagiraiah (CTP No.6961) on parole for 90 days.

Heard Sri. Vijaya Prasad, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri. Devaraj.C.H., learned AGA for the respondents. Perused the materials on record.

It is the contention of learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is the sister of the convict Sri. Ramu S/o Rathnagiraiah. The mother of the convict died on 07.05.2025 at Hunasanahalli village, Kailancha Hobli, Ramanagara Taluk and therefore, the convict be released on Parole to enable him to attend her funeral.

Learned AGA submits that considering the grounds urged by the petitioner, the convict may be released on parole for 15 days on humanitarian consideration. But, he is not entitled for any other reliefs.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he will be satisfied, if the convict is released on parole for 15 days and the petition can be disposed of. In view of the above, I proceed to pass the following:

ORDER

Respondent Nos.2 and 3 are directed to release the convict-Sri. Ramu S/o Rathnagiraiah (CTP No.6961) on parole for a period of 15 days from the date of his release, subject to the reasonable conditions that may be imposed by respondent Nos.2 and 3. Violation of the any of the conditions so imposed while releasing the convict on parole would result in cancellation of the order.

Registry is directed to communicate this order through E-mail.

Considering the grounds urged by the petitioner, respondent Nos.2 and 3 are directed to act swiftly and to see that the convict is released on parole today itself.
