T.R. Ramachandran Nair, J.—The petitioner herein has started a furniture unit for which No Objection Certificate has been issued as per Ext. P2, upto 04.11.2012. Ext. P3 is a copy of the licence issued by the Panchayath. According to the petitioner, the petitioner is not sawing timber and the same is being done by an arrangement with another Saw Mill at Kumali. It is submitted that merely because certain round logs are kept in the premises of the petitioner, a surprise inspection has been conducted and a mahazar has been issued. It is also stated that the conditions in the No Objection Certificate does not permit stacking of timber. Ext. P10 is the application for renewal of licence pending before the 1st respondent. Learned Government Pleader on getting instructions submitted that the application is being processed and some more time will be required.

There will be a direction to the 1st respondent to complete the process regarding the application for renewal within a period of one month. It is made clear that the petitioner can function the furniture unit in the meanwhile on the strength of Ext. P2. The respondents can proceed with the investigation pursuant to the mahazar Ext. P9 taking into consideration the Rules and the conditions.

This writ petition is disposed of as above.
