Judgment
The present petition has been filed under Section 29(A) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 19961 seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator for a further period of 12 months.
Vide order dated 30.09.2024 passed in ARB.P. 1526/2024, this Court appointed the learned Sole Arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. The learned Arbitrator entered reference on 24.10.2024.
It is submitted that the time taken in the proceedings was, inter alia, on account of the adjudication of an application under Section 17 of the Act, retrieval of the Petitioner’s documents through a Local Commissioner, amendment of the Statement of Claim and the subsequent CIRP proceedings, which affected the Petitioner’s ability to participate further.
It is further submitted that the delay is not attributable to the Petitioner or the learned Sole Arbitrator.

Notice is accepted by Mr. Sanchit Gawri, learned Counsel, appearing on behalf of the Respondent.
Learned Counsel for the Respondent submits that he has no objection to the extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator.
Considering the stage of the proceedings and the circumstances resulting in the delay, this Court finds that sufficient cause has been made out for extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator.
The mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended for a period of 12 months w.e.f. 08.10.2026.
The petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
Pending application(s), if any, stand disposed of.
