The present petition has been filed under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996^{11.“the Act”, hereinafter O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 663/2026 Page 1 of 2 O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 663/2026 Page 2 of 2} seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator, Hon’ble Ms. Justice Gita Mittal (Former Chief Justice, Jammu & Kashmir High Court).

Learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the proceedings have been substantially delayed on account of the voluminous record and the time consumed in recording evidence as the statement of claims is itself running into more than 28,000 pages, while the total arbitral record comprises more than 40,000 pages.

Learned Counsel further submits that there has been no delay on the part of learned Tribunal or any of the party.

Notice is accepted on behalf of the Respondent by Mr. Anish Chawla.

Learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent submits that he has no objection against the extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator.

In view of the consensus between both the parties, the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended for a further period of 12 months with effect from 31.08.2026 to conclude the arbitral proceedings and render the award.

The learned Sole Arbitrator shall endeavour to conclude the proceedings and render the award within the extended period.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
