1.

The petitioner, a fishermen cooperative society, was granted permission to catch fish by the District Fisheries Officer, Ranga Reddy District vide

proceedings dated 03.02.2021 for the period from 03.02.2021 till 30.06.2021.

2.

It is the case of the petitioner that rival fishermen are illegally trying to enter into the tank and interfere with the fishing activity undertaken by the

petitioner and as such, the petitioner submitted an application dated 02.05.2021 to the respondent Nos.4 and 5 seeking police protection.

3.

Ms. M. Vidyavathi, learned counsel for the petitioner, has drawn the attention of this Court to the letter No.03/C/2021 dated 19.05.2021 wherein the

District Fisheries Officer, Ranga Reddy District has requested the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shadnagar Division, Ranga Reddy District, to

provide necessary police protection while fishing activity is undertaken by the petitioner. In spite of the same, there is no protection given by the police.

4.

Since the persons, who are interfering with the fishing activity of the petitioner, are local villagers and there is every possibility of break down of law

and order, it is necessary for the police to provide protection.

5.

In the circumstances, the respondent Nos.4 and 5 are directed to grant police protection, as and when the petitioner-society gives prior intimation to

the police, for undertaking fishing activity at Yedri Cheruvu, Turka Cheruvu and Gurrampalli Cheruvu.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
