Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, learned counsel appearing for the State and learned counsel appearing for the Respondent No.2.

The prayer in the writ petition is made for quashing of the entire criminal proceeding arising out of Ramgarh SC/ST P.S. Case No.16 of 2021 pending in the court of learned Additional Sessions Judge-I, Ramgarh.

Mr. Nilesh Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the local press reporter. He submits that on the misconception, the respondent No.2 has filed the said FIR on the allegation that the petitioner pressurized her to do  some  illegal  work,  however, the  petitioner  being  the  press reporter has not done the said work. He submits that now a good sense has prevailed between the parties and the petitioner and respondent No.2 have compromised the said case. He submits that earlier two of the accused persons have moved before this Court in W.P. (Cr.) No.737 of 2023 and the said case was allowed and the entire criminal proceeding has been quashed based on the said compromise by order dated 21.02.2024 passed in the said writ petition.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent State submits that in view of the judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case of Ramawatar Singh Vs. State of Madhya Pradesh reported in (2022) 13 SC 589, if willingly the compromise has been made, the said can be quashed.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent No.2 submits that the compromise is there and the proceeding with regard to the two accused persons have already been quashed in W.P. (Cr.) No.737 of 2023 pursuant to said compromise.

In view of the above submission of learned counsel appearing for the parties and considering that, so far two co-accused persons are concerned, their cases have already been quashed by a co-ordinate Bench of this Court in W.P.(Cr). No.737 of 2023 and the matter has been settled between the parties and further there is no implication on criminal justice system, if the entire criminal proceeding is quashed pursuant to the said compromise as such the entire criminal proceeding arising out of Ramgarh SC/ST P.S. Case No.16 of 2021 pending in the court of learned Additional Sessions Judge-I, Ramgarh is hereby quashed.

This petition is allowed and disposed of.

Pending petition, if any, is also disposed of.
