Judgment
The petitioner states that pursuant to the advertisement dated 25.5.2018 having applied for recruitment to the post of Constables under the Rajasthan Police Subordinate Service Rules, 1989, he passed the written examination and also successfully went through the following Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Yet he has not been appointed as Constable in District Bharatpur where he had sought appointment. In the circumstances, the petitioner moved an application under the RTI Act, 2005 (hereafter 'the Act of 2005') on 1.10.2018 seeking disclosure of marks obtained by him in the ST category as also the cut off mark in that category on which the last appointment in the ST category on the post of Constable was made. However vide letter dated 13.10.2018 the requisite information was denied to the petitioner for reasons of the selection process in issue still being underway. Hence this petition.
On a query put to counsel for the petitioner, he admitted that at the relevant time the selection process was underway but states that it has now been completed.
In this view of the matter, I would dispose of this petition directing the Superintendent of Police, Bharatpur now pursuant to the conclusion of the selection process to act in pursuance of the petitioner's application under the Act of 2005 filed on 1.10.2018 and furnish him the requisite information without regard to the letter dated 13.10.2018 whereby the petitioner's prayer for information sought was rejected for reasons of the selection process being at the relevant time in process. This now be done within a period of 10 days from the date of furnishing of a certified copy of this order.
The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
