H.S. Thangkhiew, J
Heard Mr. P.T.Sangma, learned counsel for the petitioner.
The grievance of the petitioner is that her husband, one (L) Joel A.Sangma was appointed as L.P. School Teacher at Ampati, South West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya and had expired on 28-08-2019 while still in service and that till the date of filing of the writ petition, the pensionary and other service benefits were still not received by the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been therefore compelled to approach this Court for release of the pensionary and other benefits of her deceased husband.
The state respondents, in their affidavit have stated that the deceased employee had been temporarily appointed as an L.P.School Teacher in the year 1995 and had died in harness and that the respondents had forwarded the service book along with all relevant documents to the concerned department for regularisation of the services of (L) Joel A. Sangma. It is submitted by Mr. K.P.Bhattacharjee, learned GA that the process is underway and that in the meanwhile, provisional family pension for a period of 10(ten) months has been sanctioned twice to alleviate the suffering of the petitioner.
Considering the statements in the affidavit that the process of regularisation and settlement of service benefits of the deceased employee is underway, this writ petition is closed with the direction that the respondents would endeavour to complete the process as expeditiously as possible, preferably within the period of 4(four) months form the date of receipt of this order.
With the above direction, the writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
