Heard learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard learned counsel for the 1st respondent.

The present criminal petition is filed seeking to quash the order dated 11.1.2019 passed in C.C.No.1604 of 2018 on the file of the Court of III Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Kakinada. The petitioner herein is the sole accused in the said C.C. By the order dated 11.1.2019, learned Magistrate directed the petitioner/accused to pay interim compensation of Rs.1,70,000/- taking into consideration the amendment to Section 143A of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

At the time of considering the matter, it is observed that four years have gone-by after passing the interim order on 22.4.2019, staying all further proceedings in the above mentioned C.C., and therefore, this Court, instead of examining the matter, deems it appropriate to dispose of the same, however, with a direction to the learned Magistrate to dispose of the C.C., as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The stay granted by this Court shall continue till the disposal of the C.C.

With the above direction, the criminal petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous applications, pending if any, shall stand closed.
