Judgment
Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. N. Bhujanga Rao, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India for respondents No.1 and 2.
Learned Deputy Solicitor General of India furnished written instructions and submitted that the petitioner is facing charges in FIR.No.32 of 2026 of Genomevalley Police Station, Cyberabad, registered for the offences under Sections 126(2), 74, 76, 115(2), 351(2), 352(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhitha, 2023 and Sections 3(1)(r)(s) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and the matter is under investigation.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the son of the petitioner has been given offer of admission to the London School of Economics and Political Science for the full-time programme of postgraduate study MSc in Accounting and Finance and the enrolment session for the programme is scheduled on 07.09.2026. The petitioner and his family are intending to attend the said enrolment session.
Copy of the offer certificate dated 12.03.2026 whereby the son of the petitioner was given permission to attend the programme for enrolling in the course is placed on record.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and that FIR.No.32 of 2026 is pending investigation, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to renew the passport of the petitioner bearing booklet No.P 5057679 for a period of one year by imposing necessary conditions to ensure that the petitioner returns to India and cooperates with the investigation/trial in FIR.No.32 of 2026.
The miscellaneous applications, pending if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as costs.
