Kurian Joseph, C.J.—The writ petition is filed with the following prayers:

(i) To direct the respondents to sanction the proficiency step up increment as Naib Tehsildar w.e.f.; 19.11.1993.

(ii) To issue directions to the respondents to pay the arrears with interest at the rate of 12 per cent on account of proficiency step-up increment w.e.f. 19.11.93 till settlement of the matter i.e.; the aforesaid increment be sanctioned and his monthly salary be paid on enhanced rates regularly along with such other attendant service benefits that may have accrued to him on that account.

It is seen from paras 1 to 5 of the reply filed by the respondents that the matter is pending consideration before the first respondent. Therefore, the writ petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to take final decision in the matter with notice to the petitioner within a period of two months from the date of production of a copy of this judgment along with a copy of the writ petition by the petitioner. The consequential benefits, if any, to which the petitioner is found eligible, shall be also disbursed within another two months.

With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of so also the pending application(s), if any.
