The grievance of the petitioners is that their names have been deleted/omitted from the electoral roll of 88-Ponnur Assembly Constituency, Guntur District, in the Parts relating to Mannava Village, Ponnur Mandal (Part Nos.172 and 173), in the Special Intensive Revision, 2026 on the basis of Form-7objections filed in bulk by respondent No. 10 and his associates, without issuance of any notice, affording an opportunity of hearing, or passing speaking order.

2.

Heard Sri Gundala Siva Prasada Reddy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, and Sri Avinash Desai, learned Senior Counsel appearing for respondent Nos. 1 to 5.

3.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, by way of a memo bearing USR No. 125543 of 2026, the petitioners have placed on record additional material relating to the appeal preferred before the District Collector and District Election Officer, Guntur District, as an alternative remedy available to them. A copy of the said material has also been furnished across the Bench. He further submits that it would suffice, if a direction is given to the District Collector and District Election Officer, Guntur District, to dispose of the said appeal within a time-bound period.

4.

On the other hand, learned Senior Counsel appearing for respondent Nos. 1 to 5 submits that the competent authority will pass appropriate orders within two weeks.

5.

Having considered the submissions made by learned counsel on either side, and as the petitioners have restricted their relief for expeditious disposal of the appeal, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, is inclined to dispose of the Writ Petition with the following directions:

(i)

The District Collector and District Election Officer, Guntur District, shall consider and dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioners, in accordance with law, after affording them an opportunity of personal hearing, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, preferably on or before 11.11.2026.

(ii)

At this juncture, learned Senior Counsel appearing for respondent Nos. 1 to 5 submits that the petitioners may not be available at the addresses furnished in the relevant records and that, consequently, it may be difficult to serve notices on them within the stipulated time to enable them to avail themselves of the opportunity of personal hearing.

(iii)

In view of the above submission, learned counsel for the petitioners is directed to furnish the correct address particulars and contact numbers of the petitioners to respondent No.3 forthwith, to facilitate communication of the date, time and venue of the personal hearing to the petitioners.

(iv)

Upon receipt of the aforesaid particulars, respondent No.3 shall take appropriate steps to communicate the hearing details to the petitioners sufficiently in advance so as to enable them to participate in the proceedings and avail themselves of the opportunity of personal hearing.

6.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of in the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
