Judgment
Learned counsel Sri A.Prabhakar Rao appears for the petitioner. Sri T.Sharath, learned Standing Counsel for Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, appears for respondent No.2.
The present writ petition is filed seeking the following relief:
"For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, the petitioner herein prays that this Hon'ble court may be pleased to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly in the nature of WRIT OF MANDAMUS declaring the action of the 2nd respondent in not accepting the Online application for registration for admission into MBBS and BDS courses in the colleges affiliated to the 2nd respondent university on the premise that the time for submission of online application is closed from 6-00 PM on 12.8.2026 also to declare the amendment brought to Rule 4(i) vide GO Ms. No. 125 Health, Medical and Family Welfare (C1) Department, dt. 22-9-2022 to the rules issued in Telangana Medical and Dental College Admission (Admission into MBBS and BDS courses) Rules 2017 issued in GO Ms. No. 114 Health, Medical and Family Welfare (C1) Dept., dt. 5-7-2027 as illegal, arbitrary and consequently direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to apply for registration and counselling for admission into MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2026-27 and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."
When the matter is taken up today, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the subsequent Notification for Reopening of Online Registration dated 18.08.2026 issued by respondent No.2 permitting the candidates who have qualified in NEET UG 2026 by securing the cut-off score or above to register online and upload the certificates from 02.00 pm on 18.08.2026 up to 06.00 pm on 20.08.2026, the petitioner has registered online for admission into MBBS and BDS courses in the colleges affiliated to respondent No.2 and, therefore, the present writ petition has become infructuous.
In view of the aforesaid submission, the writ petition is disposed of as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed.
