This original petition is filed with the following reliefs:-
“a) Pass an order directing the Kerala State Wakf Board to ensure that the election to the 3rd respondent committee is completed as expeditiously as possible, within a time limit to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
b) Pass an order appointing an Advocate from this Hon'ble Court as Returning Officer for the conduct of election to the 3rd respondent committee in a time bound manner by replacing the 7th respondent
c) Direct the Wakf Tribunal, Kozhikode to expedite the proceedings in OA Nos.35/2022 and 37/2022 and to dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible, within a time limit to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
Regarding the first prayer, it is pointed out that an application for extension of time was filed in OP(Wakf)No.27 of 2022, and the same was allowed enlarging the time for the conduct of the election up to 25.05.2023. In view of the above, the prayers A and B sought in the original petition does not survive for consideration. As regards the third prayer to direct the Wakf Tribunal to expedite the proceedings pending before it, we direct the said Tribunal to expedite the hearing of OA Nos.35 of 2022 and 37 of 2022. We also leave open all the contentions of the parties.
The Original Petition (Wakf) is disposed as above.
