Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that they have made an application before the competent authorities for conferring the rights
(patta) under the Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, which has not been considered and decided till date and, therefore,
directions may be issued to expedite the same.
I have heard learned counsel for the petitioners.
The prayer appears to be fair and reasonable and is accordingly allowed.
Be that as it may, the competent authority, is directed to consider and dispose of the petitioners' application expeditiously preferably within a period
of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the respondent authorities would be at liberty to decide
the application of the petitioners in accordance with law.
With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition stands finally disposed
