On the earlier occasion, these matters were referred to the mediation centre for amicable settlement. Because of the difference of opinion between the parties, the matter could not be settled.
The learned counsel for the defacto complainant submitted that the petitioner is ready to hand over the jewels. The defacto complainant stated that jewels are very low quality and she is not the owner.
The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submitted that a sum of Rs.20,00,000/-(Rupees Twenty Lakhs only) is involved in this case and four complaints have been received so far.
The petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent police and co-operate with him to complete the process of investigation.
The learned Additional Public Prosecutor is directed to file status report before this Court after getting information from the Deputy Superintendent of Police, who conducted the investigation and also collect the information with regard to the fresh complaint.
The respondent police is directed to record the statements of the victims before filing the status report.
