Judgment

The petitioner is challenging Ext.P1 externment order issued by the second respondent preventing him from entering into Thrissur Revenue District for a period of one year.
The petitioner is arrayed as an accused in five cases. He has been classified as known Gunda. One out of five cases is registered under the NDPS Act.
The petitioner has pleaded in this writ petition that he is the only earning member of his family consisting of aged and ailing parents also. He has stated that he is now compelled to stay at Ernakulam away from the family resulting serious difficulties for the entire family. We note that the order was executed on 24.04.2023 and a period of more than six months have already been elapsed.
Taking note of the difficulties pleaded and the fact that the petitioner has already undergone externment for a period of six months, we deem it fit to confine the operation of the order till today (28.06.2024). The petitioner, hereafter, shall report before the Station House Officer, Kodakara Police Station, on every Sunday at 11 am for a further period of two months.
In case of non compliance, the authority shall be at liberty to proceed against the petitioner in accordance with law.
This writ petition is disposed of as above.
