Avneesh Jhingan, J
The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.
This petition is filed seeking direction to private respondents not to interfere in the life and liberty of the petitioners as they have solemnized marriage against the wishes of their parents.
Notice of motion was issued on 10.2.2021 to the official respondents. It was directed that the police official not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police should record the statements of petitioners.
Learned State counsel submits that the petitioners appeared before the police officials on 13.2.2021 and stated that they have threat perceptions. Considering the facts they are being stationed at safe house and necessary steps as required would be taken accordingly.
Mr. Kamal Chaudhary, Advocate puts in appearance for private respondents and submits that there is no threat to the petitioners from his clients. Private respondents are ready to appear before the ASP Kalanwali to get their statements recorded. However, he submits that separate FIR has been registered and they will pursue the same.
Let appropriate steps, as warranted be taken by the police officials for dealing with threat perception.
The petition is disposed of.
This order shall not be considered as protection for petitioner No.2 if he is required in any other FIR,.
