Judgment
Arindam Lodh, J
Heard Mr. Koomar Chakraborty, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. M. Debbarma, learned counsel appearing for the respondent-contemnors.
This is a contempt petition filed by the petitioner for alleged wilful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 31.03.2023 passed in WP(C) No.952 of 2021.
Learned counsel has submitted that a writ appeal has been preferred against the said order, but, he has failed to inform this Court about the latest status of the writ appeal and whether any stay has been granted.
At this juncture, Mr. Debbarma, learned counsel has submitted that the matter has not been listed yet.
In view of this, I direct Mr. Debbarma, learned counsel for the respondent-contemnors to inform this Court about the latest status of the writ appeal within 7(seven) days. If the respondent-contemnors fail to obtain any order staying the operation of the order dated 31.03.2023 then, in case of non-compliance, this Court shall be compelled to initiate a contempt of Court proceeding against the respondent-contemnors.
List the matter on 06.02.2024.
