Applicant is a Constable working in Delhi Police. He was awarded certain punishments on 20.11.2017.
Applicant pleads that as a result of this punishment, his name was also put on the secret list w.e.f. 20.11.2017 for a period of three years. Orders to this effect were issued on 01.01.2018.
Subsequently, the applicant preferred an appeal to the Appellate Authority, who reduced the said punishment to 'Censure'. It is also pleaded that the suspension period was also treated as on duty.
The applicant preferred a representation to the respondents on 16.01.2019 to remove his name from the secret list, as his punishment was reduced. The applicant pleads that his representation has not been decided as yet. Feeling aggrieved he preferred the instant OA.
Issue notice to the respondents. Ms. Esha Mazumdar, learned counsel appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
At this stage, Sh. R.K. Jain, learned counsel for applicant mentions that he will be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to decide his pending representation in a time bound manner.
Matter has been heard.
The instant OA is disposed of at the admission stage itself, without going into the merits of the case, with a direction to the respondents to decide the representation Dt 16.1.2019 of the applicant for a request for removing his name from the secret list, by passing a reasoned and speaking order, under advice to the applicant, within a period of eight weeks.
No order as to costs.
