The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on part of the respondent authorities in releasing the sanctioned amount for the petitioner's son towards the scholarship amount under the Scheme of A.P State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation vide “Videshi Vidya Devana” for the Academic Years 2018-2021.

2.

The petitioner's son submitted an application for grant of scholarship amount vide Application Number OV02018120732. The petitioner's son applied for studying M.B.A. with Professional Placement in United Kingdom (UK) in University of Central Lancashire. The petitioner's son had submitted the said application and the respondents have approved the application of the petitioner’s son. It is stated that he was entitled to financial assistance for perusing his studies abroad, as per the sanction of funds by the Government. However, despite the sanction of funds by the Government, the financial assistance promised to the petitioner’s son was not disbursed. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed.

3.

The 3rd respondent has filed a counter and it is stated that the State Level Screening Committee was constituted for verification of the applications and the State Level Screening Committee had approved the list of eligible candidates. However, the government had ordered an enquiry into the sanction of scholarship amounts to various students and the Vigilance and Enforcement Department had submitted a report and as seen from the report, the petitioner's son was found as an eligible beneficiary of the scheme.

4.

A Counter-affidavit to that effect is filed and it is stated that the petitioner's son is entitled for release of the balance amount. However the amount shall be released soon after the 3rd respondent receives the funds from the Government.

5.

Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for respondent No. 3 and also the admission in the counter that the petitioner’s son is an eligible beneficiary, the 3rd respondent shall have to release the amount as expeditiously as possible, not later than a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
