Judgment
Heard both sides.
Mr.D.Rajaboopathy, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) takes notice for respondents 1 to 3.
The grievances of the petitioner is such that, though the petitioner has few cases, all the cases were disposed in which the petitioner has been acquitted. Having no case pending then, maintaining the History Sheet No.85 of 2016 for one decade is unwarranted. Therefore, the petitioner sent representation dated 08.08.2026 to remove the History Sheet, but there is no action taken place from the respondent side. Therefore, the petitioner has come up with this case for direction.
The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that, totally there are 9 cases against the petitioner and out of it 3 cases are disposed, in which the petitioner got acquittal. In 1 case he was convicted and 2 cases against the petitioner have been quashed by this Court. As of now, 3 cases are pending.
The learned counsel for the petitioner on instruction submitted that, one case is pending against the petitioner which was stated in the Writ Petition.
Recording the above factual aspect, without going into the merits of the case, the respondent police is directed to consider the petitioner representation dated 08.08.2026, for removal of petitioner's name in the History Sheet No.85 of 2026 within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.
With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
