The petition has come up with this writ petition directing the respondents 1 to 2 to provide adequate and necessary police protection to the petitioner for the peaceful erection of the compound fence around the premises of Sri Adhikesava Perumal Temple, Ponnagaram, Manalmelkudi, Pudukkottai District. The petitioner is the Trustee of the said Temple which is under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department and he collected certain funds for erection of compound fence.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that though the petitioner, as the Trustee, was taking steps, there is some obstruction from the nearby land owners. The petitioner sent a letter dated 03.08.2026 to the respondents 1 and 2 for necessary police protection and the same was received on 05.08.2026. But, the respondents 1 and 2 has not considered the letter sent by the petitioner for police protection. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court by filing the present petition.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submitted that the police is ready to provide police protection for erection of compound fence.

Considering the above, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to provide protection during the course of compound fencing be carried out.

With the above direction, this petition is disposed of.
