Judgment
Ahanthem Bimol Singh, J
Heard Mr. L. Sevananda Sharma, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr. Kh. Samarjit, learned DSGI assisted by Mr. N. Nongdamba, learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
After hearing at length the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, Mr. Kh. Samarjit, learned DSGI submitted before this court that he has received instruction from the authorities that the authorities are willing and ready to provide an alternative site for running the business of the petitioners till the period for which they have already paid the advance rent. The learned DSGI further submitted that in order to bring an amicable settlement of the dispute involved in the present writ petition, the competent authorities of the RIMS are willing to have a discussion with the petitioners, if they voluntarily come to the Office to settled out the matter, to which Mr. L. Sevananda Sharma, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that he will instruct his clients to be present before the authorities for an amicable settlement.
After hearing the submissions advanced by the learned counsels, this court is of the considered view that it will be in the interests of justice to pass the following order:-
(i) The present petitioners are directed to be present at the Office of the Deputy Director, RIMS, on 01-02-2025 at 01:00 P.M.; and
(ii) The Deputy Director, RIMS, is hereby directed to have a discussion with the petitioners, if they are present before him, as directed above and to bring out an amicable settlement in terms of the instruction indicated above.
As prayed for by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, list these cases again on 10-02-2025.
A copy of this order be furnished to both the counsel appearing for the parties through their WhatsApp/e-mail during the course of the day for doing the needful.
