Judgment
A. Guneshwar Sharma, J
[1] Heard Ms. Babita Th, learned counsel for the petitioners.
[2] The petitioners who are 17 nos. of contract employees in Manipur University in various capacities and they have been working for the last 10 to 20 years. Their applications for regularization have been rejected by the university vide order dated 24.11.2025 passed by Registrar, M.U. and it is stated that similarly situated persons were regularized vide order dated 10.04.2007 and the petitioners have been treated differently.
[3] Issue notice.
[4] Mr. Deepak Pasad Sahu, learned counsel assisting Mr. BP Sahu, learned sr. counsel accept notice on behalf of respondent nos. 1 & 2, Ms. Ch. Monibala, learned jr. counsel to Mr. S. Jasobanta, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent no. 3 and Ms. Lency, learned counsel assisting Mr. W. Darakishwor, learned Sr. PCCG accept notice on behalf of the respondent no. 4. Hence, service is complete on the respondents.
[5] The learned counsel for the respondents prays for 3(three) week’s time for filing counter affidavit.
[6] The prayer for interim will be considered on the next date.
[7] List these cases before appropriate roster bench on 09.02.2026.
