Judgment
Gurvinder Singh Gill, J
Petitioner No.1-Vishal aged 22 years and petitioner No.2-Khushaboo aged 20 years and 10 months have approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction to respondent Nos.1 to 3, to protect their lives and liberty as the petitioners who are living in a ‘LIVE-IN relationship’ apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6, who do not approve of their relationship.
Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and while refraining from making any expression as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar, Mohali, to get representation dated 18.5.2022 (Annexure P-4) examined as regards the alleged threat perception of the petitioners and to take necessary action as may be warranted under the facts and circumstances of the case.
A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 18.5.2022 be sent to Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar, Mohali (respondent No.2), so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.
It is, however, clarified that the aforesaid order is not to be taken as any kind of expression as regards the relationship of the parties. It is further clarified that the aforesaid order shall not confer any immunity upon the petitioners, in case it is found that they have committed any wrong.
