Judgment
P.R. Ramachandra Menon, J.—The petitioner herein filed W.P(C) No. 29365 of 2009, seeking for police protection, wherein interim relief was granted as per orders dated on 16.10.2009 and 22.10.2009, directing the respondent to provide adequate and effective police protection, so as to transport the manure and the activities to be pursued. Subsequently, the Writ Petition was finalized as per Annexure 3 verdict, making interim orders absolute.
The petitioner''s case is that, even after passing the verdict as above, the petitioner has been harassed at the hands of the concerned S.I. of Police, Kollam on the relevant date and that only scant regards have been given to the verdict passed by this Court, which made the petitioner to file this case.
The learned Government Pleader, pursuant to the specific direction given by this Court, obtained a report from the concerned respondent, which has been filed before this Court, explaining the sequence of events. Going by the contents of the said report, it is seen that, there is absolutely no wilful disobedience on the part of the respondent with regard to the issue concerned herein. It is also asserted that the verdict passed by this Court has been given effect to.
In the above circumstances, we do not find it necessary to proceed with the contempt matter any further. Accordingly the same is closed, without prejudice to the rights and liberties of the petitioner to have the benefits flowing from the said verdict.
