Judgment
Alok Singh, J.—This is an application seeking regular bail in case FIR No. 4 dated 04.02.2011, under Sections 7, 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, registered at Police Station, Vigilance Bureau, Amritsar.
Petitioner-accused was posted as Inspector in the PUNSUP. The complainant approached the accused-Petitioner for release of his outstanding amount of Rs. 4,39,810/-. To release the payment in favour of the complainant, accused-Petitioner demanded bribe of Crl. Misc. No. M-8081 of 2011 Rs. 75,000/-, which was ultimately settled for Rs. 70,000/-. The complainant has made complaint to D.S.P., Vigilance Bureau, who arranged a trap. The Petitioner was caught red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 70,000/-. His hands were also got washed in a solution water and its colour changed to pink.
Learned Counsel for the Petitioner states that Petitioner is a heart patient, therefore, he may be enlarged on bail to get better treatment. Learned Counsel for the Petitioner has fairly stated that now Petitioner has already been operated upon and two stents were put in. Since, all the medical facilities are being provided to the Petitioner while in jail, I am not inclined to enlarge the Petitioner on bail.
Dismissed.
