Judgment
Anu Sivaraman, J.
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Pleader and the learned counsel appearing for respondents 3 to 5. We have also interacted with the petitioner, the alleged detenue as well as the 3rd respondent.
The alleged detenue submits that she is married to the petitioner and that she would like to accompany the petitioner to his place of residence.
Having considered the contentions advanced and taking note of the opinions expressed by the parties, we are of the opinion that the alleged detenue, who is legally wedded wife of the petitioner, is to be set at liberty to accompany the petitioner, since she has expressed her willingness to do so.
The alleged detenue is, therefore, set at liberty to accompany the petitioner to his place of residence. In case the petitioner or his wife faces or apprehends any threat to their lives, they may inform the jurisdictional police, who shall look into such complaints and afford necessary protection to their lives as required.
This writ petition is ordered accordingly.
