P. Sathasivam, J.—The petitioner by name V. Selvam, has filed this habeas corpus petition seeking direction to the respondents to produce

the body of his daughter, viz., Ms. Sangeetha Priya before this Court and hand over the custody to him.

2.

Pursuant to the direction of this Court, the detenue/petitioner''s daughter Sangeetha Priya, appeared before us. As on to-day, she is a major and

her date of birth being 05.04.1988. At present she is studying First Year B.E., (Electronics and Communication). According to the detenue, the

first respondent herein, viz., P. Prabhu is her lover. Even after our enquiry, the detenue girl is not acceding to the request of her father. She also

informed us that she is willing to continue her studies and there will not be any problem in meeting the expenses. In view of the fact that as on

today, the detenue is major and she is not under the illegal custody of anyone, we are of the view that no further adjudication is required in this

petition and the detenue is set at liberty. It is for her to decide her future. It is made clear that the earlier orders passed by this Court on various

occasions, including the direction to the College Management stand cancelled.

With the above observation, this petition is closed.
