Ms. Neerja Chaubey, learned Counsel seeks eight weeks' time to comply with the judgment dated 01/03/2021 passed by this Court in W.P.No.
1795/2020.
By the judgment dated 01/03/2021 the writ petition filed by the Union of India was rejected and the Union of India was granted three months' time
to refund the amount of Rs.1, 06,348/- as recovered from the respondent. The period of three months has already expired, in spite of 0106wp1795 0f
2020.odt which, the compliance has not been done. By the present application a further period of eight weeks is sought for compliance on the ground
that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, officers are not available and the consent of the concerned Ministry will also have to be taken.
The reason advanced, is not logical nor reasonable. For a paltry sum of Rs.1,06,348/- if the Union of India requires months together to refund the
same, then the plight of the respondent, who has been also affected by Covid-19 would really be difficult to imagine. However, considering the
circumstances the applicant is directed to deposit the mount within a period of one week from today.
Civil application is accordingly disposed of.
