The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition aggrieved by the stand of the 3rd respondent that the petitioner who is having the required qualification of M.A. Islamic History is not eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor in History. By interim order dated 7.3.2012, this Court directed the 3rd respondent to provisionally allow the petitioner participate in the interview, subject to further orders to be passed in the Writ Petition. It was made clear that the processing of the application of the petitioner based on the interview will be only after getting orders of this Court.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Standing Counsel for the University, the learned counsel appearing for the 3rd respondent and the learned Government Pleader. The learned counsel for the 3rd respondent submitted that the petitioner was allowed to participate in the interview and going by the ranking given, the petitioner is only Sl. No. 8, out of nine candidates interviewed. 5. In that view of the matter, this Court need not go into the contentions raised by the petitioner in the Writ Petition and the contention raised by the respondents that the petitioner is not qualified for appointment, as Assistant Professor in History. The Writ Petition is dismissed. All the other issues are left open.
