Judgment

Petitioner above-named who is in custody since 16.12.2022 has moved this Court for grant of regular bail in connection with Deoghar (Kunda) P.S. Case No.520 of 2014 (S.T. Case No.35 of 2023 registered under Section 397 of the Indian Penal Code.
Heard the parties.
It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that there is no legal evidence against him and the only material is the confessional statement of co-accused. The other co-accused has been granted bail. It is further submitted that the petitioner does have criminal antecedent, but in most of the cases, he has been acquitted of the charges.
Learned APP for the State has vehemently opposed the prayer. It is submitted that the case is of the year 2014 wherein the house robbery was committed and this petitioner was at large till the month of December, 2022 when he has been arrested and remanded in this case. It is submitted that the petitioner has criminal antecedent and is involved in ten cases of serious nature.
Considering the nature of allegation and criminal antecedent, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on regular bail and accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected.
