The writ petitioners are before this Court alleging that in spite of the complaint made before the respondent No. 2 and 3, that the village elders of the petitioners’ village namely; Kharang Village have excluded them from the Dorbar, no action was taken or forthcoming. It is their further case that they have also approached the office of the Respondent No. 1, the Executive Member, Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council on 22.04.2022 by way of a complaint, and the same is yet to see the light of the day.
Though the writ petition does not really reveal the factum of expulsion from the Dorbar, the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the grievances are that, they are not allowed to take part in the Dorbar, and also residential certificates have not issued to them , apart from other incidents.
Mr. V.G.K. Kynta, learned Senior counsel assisted by Ms. C. Nongkhlaw, learned counsel for the respondent District Council submits that perhaps the petitioners are not aware that the matter is seized by the respondent No. 1, and notices have been issued to all the concerned parties to appear before it for settlement of the matter.
In this view of the matter, as the grievances of the writ petitioners are being looked into by the respondent No. 1, nothing survives for consideration presently. Accordingly, the matter stands close and is disposed of.
