J. Chelameswar, C.J.—The writ petition is filed with the prayer as follows:

Issue a writ of mandamus, any other writ, order or direction commanding the respondents to implement the Kochi City Road improvement Project finalised by the 2nd respondent, on similar lines with Trivandrum City Road Improvement Project, on a time bound manner.

2.

In view of a statement filed on behalf of the 2nd respondent dated 27.07.2010, we do not think it really necessary to go into the factual details of the writ petition. The 2nd respondent made a cryptic but categoric statement as follows:

The Government has since taken a policy decision to implement the Kochi City Road Improvement Project on Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) - Annuity basis. For the effective implementation of the project, steps are being taken to pen Regional Office at Kochi with necessary staff. Funds do not stand in the way of implementation of the project, based on the decision of the Government.

In view of the said statement, the learned Counsel for the petitioner agrees that there is no further need to adjudicate the writ petition. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
