This petition has been filed challenging the order dated 10.01.2025, containing Annexure P-3, whereby the petitioner has been allotted a vending site No.270 in Sector 15. The petitioner submits that he was working for a sufficiently long period in Sector 22 and, therefore, he should be allowed to continue in the same sector.

Reply has already been filed stating that none of the available vending sites in Sector 22 is available. Therefore in the draw of lots, the petitioner has been allotted the site in Sector 15.

Similar matters have been considered by this Court, and such claims have been rejected after noticing the fact that the numbers of persons who got registered were almost twice the number of available sites. In such circumstances, the draw of lots has been found to be a valid system adopted by the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh for allotment of vending sites. A detailed order has been passed in CWP No. 11605 of 2025 titled as Sahil versus Union Territory of Chandigarh and others, decided on 08.01.2025.

Considering the facts of the present case also and the observations in CWP No. 11605 of 2025, this writ petition is hereby dismissed.

Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
