Judgment
The petitioners have filed this petition seeking direction to
respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to take action against respondent Nos. 4 to 6 as per
representations dated 5.6.2017, 9.6.2017 and 12.6.2017 (Annexures P-1 to
P-3) respectively submitted before Senior Superintendent of Police, District
Sangrur(respondent No.2).
It is the case of the petitioners that petitioner No.1 was married
with respondent No.4 Harjit Singh on 11.8.2011. A girl namely Husanpreet
Kaur was born from this wedlock on 26.06.2012. After some time,
respondent Nos. 4 to 6 started demanding dowry from the petitioners. The
husband of the petitioner used to beat her under the influence of drugs and
he always threatened petitioner No.1 that he will throw acid on her face
which will make her life hell and also threatened to commit suicide, and
involve her alongwith her family members in false cases. Petitioner No.1
was given beatings by respondent No.4 on 28.05.2017. Since 28.05.2017
petitioner no.1 is living with her parents. Even thereafter respondent No.4
has been repeatedly threatening petitioner no.1 that he would throw acid on
her face and damage her face entirely. It is further averred in the petition
that to the knowledge of petitioner no.1, respondent No.4 is always
carrying bottle of acid with him.
Learned counsel for the petitioners states that though
representations (Annexures P-1 to P-3) having been submitted by the
petitioners before respondent No.2 requesting that action be taken against
respondent Nos. 4 to 6 but no action thereon has been taken so far.
In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a
direction to respondent No.2 to look into the representations submitted by
the petitioners and take such action as may be warranted in law.
