Jaswant Singh, J.—Petitioner who is an Associate Professor in Govt. College, for Boys Ludhaina has invoked the jurisdiction u/s 482 Code of Criminal Procedure for directing the official Respondents to initiate action against Respondent No. 4 Vivek Kumar and also granting the Petitioner protection against him.

It is submitted that wife of Respondent No. 4-Vivek Kumar was one of the students of the Petitioner doing Ph.D. under his guidance and on account of some dispute, Respondent No. 4 had nurtured a grudge against the Petitioner. Resultantly, Respondent No. 4 had been sending him threatening SMS as well as intimidating calls from various mobile numbers and Petitioner had made applications P-1 and P-2 to the police for taking appropriate action.

Learned State Counsel on instructions from SI Rajesh Thakur points out that after investigation proceedings against four accused including Respondent No. 4 u/s 107/150 Code of Criminal Procedure have been initiated. He further submits that it shall be ensured that as and when any further incident is brought to the notice of the police authorities by the Petitioner, appropriate action shall be taken.

In view of the aforesaid action taken and statement made, learned Counsel for the Petitioner does not wish to press the petition at this stage.
