The petitioner has filed this petition calling in question the Objection [Annexure-B] and for directions to issue Passport to him in consideration of his application. It is submitted, without dispute by the learned counsels for the parties, including Sri Rahul Cariappa, the learned Additional Government Advocate, who appears for the State of Karnataka represented by the Jurisdictional Police, that the petitioner’s passport is not renewed because of a criminal case filed against him by his spouse but the investigation is stayed by this Court in Criminal Petition No.143/2025 and therefore there would be no impediment for issuance of Short Validity Passport.
When queried, Ms. Reshma K.T., the learned counsel for the Passport Authority of India and the Regional Passport Office, submits that these offices would require a minimum of two weeks to issue such Passports. Taking these submissions on record for due compliance, the petition stands disposed of.
