1.

-THE appeal is directed against the order passed by the learned District Forum, Puducherry in Consumer Complaint No. 84/2005, dated 15. 9. 2006.

2.

IN the said order, the District Forum, Puducherry has allowed the complaint with the following four directions: (i) Effect permanent electricity service connection to the respondent/complainant''s premises; (ii) pay a compensation of Rs. 5,000 (Rupees five thousand only) to the respondent/complainant towards loss and injury suffered by him due to the negligent act of not granting permanent electricity service connection: (iii) pay a compensation of Rs. 3,000 (Rupees three thousand only) towards deficiency in service for not granting permanent electricity service connection and (iv) to pay Rs. 2,000 (Rupees two thousand only) towards costs.

As far as the 1st direction is concerned, it is admitted by the learned Counsel for the respondent/complainant that permanent electricity service connection has been given to the petitioner mentioned property even during the pendency of the complaint and it is stated that the said connection shall not be disturbed unless it is warranted for any other cause or reasons. Accordingly, the first direction contained in the impugned order is confirmed subject to the condition that it shall not be disturbed unless it is warranted for any other reason or cause. As far as other directions are concerned, the learned Counsel for the respondent/complainant fairly submits that he is not pressing those prayers for directions and is giving up those prayers made in the complaint also. Accordingly, the directions contained in 2, 3 and 4 stand deleted and the appeal is allowed only to the above extent of the impugned order. In other aspects, the order of the District Forum is confirmed. No costs. Appeal allowed.
