By way of the present petition, the petitioners have challenged the Order dated 15.01.2024 passed by the learned Central Administrative Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Tribunal’) in O.A. No. 05/2024, titled Sh. Sunil Kumar Bansal (Ex-Serviceman) & Ors. v. Union of India & Ors., whereby, the learned Tribunal was pleased to dismiss the said O.A.
In the said O.A., the petitioners had challenged the condition contained in Para 5.6.1 of the Recruitment Notice dated 01.09.2023 issued by the Staff Service Selection Commission for the post of Constable (Executive) in the Delhi Police Exam-2023.
The impugned order was passed in January 2024; however, though the present petition was filed on 17.04.2024, it remained under objections and was listed before this Court for the first time only on 08.10.2025, that is with a delay of almost two years.
In view of the passage of time, and considering that the matter pertains to a recruitment process, which must have long since concluded, we do not deem it appropriate to entertain the present petition on account of delay and laches.
At the same time, we leave the question of law and the challenge of the petitioners open to be adjudicated by the learned Tribunal, if and when such an occasion arises afresh, remaining uninfluenced by the Impugned Order passed by the learned Tribunal.
This petition, along with the application, is disposed of in the above terms.
