The petitioner has filed this writ of habeas corpus seeking an order directing respondents 1 and 2 to produce the corpus of the alleged detenue, namely, Raji L., the wife of the petitioner, who is missing from 26.04.2023 onwards, before this Court. Going by the averments in the writ petition, the wife of the petitioner left her matrimonial to live along with her friend at Ernakulam.

On 09.05.2023, when this writ petition came up for admission, the learned Public Prosecutor was directed to get instructions.

On 12.05.2023, at the request of the learned Government Pleader, the matter was adjourned to today. This Court recorded the submission made by the learned Government Pleader that the alleged detenue has already appeared before the jurisdictional Magistrate and her statement has also been recorded.

Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the alleged detenue was produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court. The learned Magistrate recorded the statement of the alleged detenue and she was permitted to go along with her friend.

In such circumstances, recording the aforesaid statement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is closed.
