Judgment
The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty on the premise that petitioner No.2 has performed marriage with
petitioner No.1 against the wishes of her parents and other family members and the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at their
instance.

Ms. Harpreet Kaur, AAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the respondent State.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that a representation dated 10.09.2018 was made to the Superintendent of Police, Panipat
(Annexure P5), seeking necessary protection but no action has been taken so far in the matter.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has further submitted that the wife of petitioner No.1 namely Ritu had died on 22.08.2013 and thereafter, petitioner
No.1 and his parents have faced the full length trial in FIR No.938 dated 22.08.2013 registered under Sections 304-B, 120-B IPC (Section 302 IPC
added in alternative) at Police Station City Panipat and they were acquitted by the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Panipat vide judgment dated
22.07.2014.
Heard.
Without examining the question of validity or otherwise of marriage of the petitioners, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the
Superintendent of Police, Panipat to look into grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation (Annexure P5) and take appropriate action,
if any, warranted in the circumstances.
The Superintendent of Police, Panipat respondent No.2 is further directed to convene a meeting between the petitioners and the parents of petitioner
No.2, if so required. It is further directed that petitioner No.2 will submit the complete address of her parents along with the mobile phone numbers to
enable respondent No.2, to comply with the directions.
