Judgment

The petitioners claim that they are permanent residents of Village Kot, Post Office Sayri, Tehsil Kandaghat, District Solan, H.P. and they seek a direction to the respondents-State to upgrade Police Chowki, Sayari to Police Station, Sayari.
Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners submits that vide Notification dated 15.03.2018 (Annexure P-2), the Notification dated 11.10.2017 (Annexure P-1) vide which Police Chowki, Sayari was upgraded to Police Station, Sayari, was withdrawn. He further submits that Sayari is a populated area and as per the need of the people, the said Police Chowki was up- graded to a Police Station and now, when the said Police Station has been downgraded to a Police Chowki, the people of the said area are compelled to cover a long distance in order to make a complaint, which is very time consuming.
On the other hand, Mr. Adarsh Sharma, learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of respondents-State prays that this petition may be dismissed since the petitioners have no locus-standi or right to seek such directions.
We have heard learned Counsel for the parties and have also perused the entire record minutely.
It is for the Government to decide whether to open or close a police station or any other Government Office, depending upon the exigencies. The petitioners have no locus-standi or right to seek such directions, as has been sought by way of the present writ petition.
At this stage, learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners submits that respondent No. 2 has already made recommendations dated 27th July, 2020, to respondent No. 1 to upgrade Police Chowki, Sayari to Police Station, Sayari.
In view of the above, we deem it appropriate to dispose of this writ petition with a direction to respondent No. 1 to examine and take decision on the recommendations made by respondent No. 2. Ordered accordingly.
Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of alongwith pending application(s), if any.
