Judgment
Petitioner seeks a mandamus for directing the respondents to renew his arms licence.
Pleadings on record would indicate that petitioner held a arms licence valid upto 30.06.2018. He apparently submitted an application seeking renewal of the arms licence with a delay of two months and five days approximately. The petitioner has been issued show cause notices dated 17.09.2018 (Annexure P-2) and 23.01.2019 (Annexure P-4) from the office of the District Collector, Kapurthala, contemplating cancellation of his licence.
It is the case of the petitioner that he has submitted replies to both the aforesaid notices but till date no final decision thereupon has been taken.

On the asking of the Court, Ms. Kanica Sachdeva, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice and waives service. A complete copy of the writ paper-book already stands furnished.
Learned State counsel makes a statement that in case the application of the petitioner seeking renewal of his arms licence is pending as of date and further if no final decision has been taken upon the two show cause notices at Annexure P-2 and P-4 dated 17.09.2018 and 23.01.2019 respectively, the matter would be taken upon and a final decision in accordance with law and under the provisions of the Arms Act would be taken and conveyed to the petitioner expeditiously.
In view of the above, no further directions are required to be passed.
Writ petition disposed of.
