Judgment
Pius C.Kuriakose, J.—As directed by the 7th Respondent - the State Election Commission, a statement has been filed by the learned Standing Counsel. It is stated therein that all necessary steps and precautions have been taken for preventing breach of peace and occurrence of law and order situation. It is clearly stated that the proposed election will be conducted in a fair and peaceful manner.
Annexure - B produced along with the statement will show that the Election Commission has requested the Director General of Police, the District Collector and Superintendent of Police to afford " adequate and sufficient police protection to all polling stations and counting center in connection with the proposed election". Annexure-C will show that vediography has been arranged in view of the sensitive nature of the booth concerned.
Under the above circumstances, we record the statement filed by the Election Commission as well as Annexures produced along with the same. We are not issuing specific directions in view of the assurance given through the statement.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
