Judgment
THIS is an appeal against an order of the Calcutta District Forum passed in C.D.F. Case No. 903/97 allowing a prayer for the installation of a new meter for the complainant on the present meter board. It appears that the landlord of the complainant has no objection to the installation of such a meter. The C.E.S.C. has also no objection to the proposal. The only objection is made by the present appellant Sri Subrata Mukherjee who is a cotenant in the premises. In the memo of appeal it has been stated that the Junior Advocate representing the present appellant could not explain the matter properly. It has been further stated that for installation of the meter it will be necessary to open the door of the flat occupied by the appellant.
WE have perused the order passed by the District Forum. It is found that there is already a meter box in the premises on which the proposed meter is to be installed. The District Forum has correctly held that the present appellant has no reasonable ground to obstruct the installation of the meter. So far as the appellant is concerned there is no consumer dispute between him and the complainant. Considering the entire circumstances we are of the view that the lower Court has passed a reasonable judgment and there is no reason to interfere with it. The appeal has, therefore, no merits and it is accordingly dismissed. There will be no order for costs. Appeal dismissed.
