Judgment
We have heard the learned Senior Standing Counsel for the appellant and the learned advocate on behalf of the respondent who was appearing in person.
An adjournment is sought for on the ground of his personal inconvenience.
The learned Senior Standing Counsel submitted that the hearing of the contempt proceedings has been deferred and the next date is 31st January, 2025.
We have framed the legal question to be considered in this appeal, namely, as to whether the prayers sought for in query nos.A and B would qualify as information to be furnished under the provisions of the Right to Information Act. We have also observed in our order dated 15.1.2025 that the information sought for in queries nos.C, D, E and F are not in the nature of a query seeking for information as the writ petitioner seeks for a detailed enquiry to be conducted by the Directorate of Anti Corruption Bureau under the Government of West Bengal/CBI. Certain other observations were also made in our earlier order dated 15.1.2025 while condoning the delay in filing the appeal.
Since the appeal is adjourned at the request made on behalf of the respondent/writ petition, list this appeal on 29th January, 2025.
The contempt proceedings pending before the learned Single Bench shall remain stayed till the appeal is heard and disposed of.
