Lawyers are abstaining from work today.

Since the prayer made in the present petition is for protecting the life and liberty of the petitioners, this Court deems it fit and proper to dispose of the present petition on the basis of pleadings made in the petition.

Petitioners claim that they have attained majority and married against the wishes of their family members. Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, they have filed the present petition for protection.

Petitioners claim to have submitted a representation dated 16.09.2023 (Annexure P-6), in this regard to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehabad and respondent No.3-SHO, Police Station Bhuna, District Fatehabad.

The petitioner No.1 has placed on record his birth certificate as Annexure P-1 and petitioner No.2 has placed on record the copy of her Aadhar Cards as Annexure P-2 as proof of their age. The petitioners have also placed on record Marriage Certificate as Annexure P-4 and photographs of marriage as Annexure P-5.

The present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-SHO, Police Station Bhuna, District Fatehabad that representation, if any, filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to the petitioners. It is made clear that this order shall not be treated as a stamp of this Court regarding marriage of the parties.
